Dave Grohl has wowed fans with a fiery cover of Paul McCartney’s “Live and Let Die” during a charity benefit concert in New York. The Love Rocks NYC concert, which took place at the Beacon Theatre, was in aid of the charity God’s Love We Deliver. Also featuring at the show were artists like Tom Morello, The Black Keys, Nile Rodgers, and Hozier. Grohl, who headlined the event, started with a version of Foo Fighters’ 1997 song “Everlong” before closing his set with the Wings song, which was the theme tune of the 1973 James Bond film of the same name.

The ex-Nirvana drummer memorably played the same song at a 2022 Glastonbury headline set alongside McCartney and also performed a version of The Beatles’ “I Saw Her Standing There.” Grohl spoke of meeting McCartney for the first time in 2002 after both musicians appeared at a tribute concert for George Harrison at the Royal Albert Hall. Grohl recalled how he noticed McCartney chatting away with friends out of the corner of his eye and described it as “not the most incredible thing ever to happen to me.”

Grohl recently teamed up with Epiphone to launch a signature version of his DG-335 guitar, which is available on the manufacturer’s website. Meanwhile, the Foo Fighters are preparing to resume their “Everything or Nothing at All” global stadium tour in Dallas in May. Grohl’s most recent musical offering is his featured drum part on St. Vincent’s “gnarly” new single “Broken Man.” The singer praised Grohl’s contribution, calling it “absolute reckless spirit and just takes it to the edge.”

The Love Rocks NYC concert has raised $4 million to benefit God’s Love We Deliver, which helps to provide nutritious meals for those who are too sick to shop or cook for themselves. The funds raised will go towards the charity’s core missions, including delivering over 2 million meals to people in need across New York City and the surrounding areas
