Ex-LOONA’s Chuu wins second trial against former label Blockberry Creative

The Seoul High Court has sided with the former LOONA member, Chuu, in the second trial against her former music label, Blockberry Creative. According to Xsports News, the court has ruled in favour of Chuu again, choosing to uphold the conclusion reached in the first trial. A spokesperson for the court told Xsports News that “We judged that the conclusion of the first trial was reasonable.”

It is not the first time Chuu has taken legal action against Blockberry Creative, with her initial lawsuit requesting a provisional injunction to suspend her contract with the label in January 2022. The court accepted the request, which resulted in her being absent from several LOONA promotional activities, including the band’s debut world tour. Following this, Blockberry Creative terminated Chuu’s contract, citing ‘violent language and misuse of power.’

The Court has now officially nullified Chuu’s contract with Blockberry Creative, and the label has also been ordered to pay the costs of the lawsuit. Blockberry Creative later appealed against the ruling and fought for a second trial, but the ruling has remained consistent.

In response to her termination, the remaining 11 members of LOONA also filed for suspension of their contracts. Since then, Chuu has moved on to other endeavours through her new label ATRP. Meanwhile, members of LOONA are pursuing their careers through Modhaus and CTEDM, signing contracts with both labels
