Matt Champion of Brockhampton and Jennie of BLACKPINK have released a new collaborative single called ‘Slow Motion’. The song was released a day after it was announced, along with an animated version of the cover art. The chorus of the song has both singers harmonizing saying, “You know what you mean to me. / ’Cause I’m leaning on my way / Making my heart cry (Nothing is) / Nothing is love.”

The song was teased by both Champion and Jennie on their Instagram Stories on March 3, a few days before its release. It appears that ‘Slow Motion’ may be part of Champion’s debut album ‘Mika’s Laundry,’ which is set to release on March 22. Champion had already released the songs ‘Slug’ and ‘Aphid,’ the latter featuring Dijon.

Jennie’s Odd Atelier, which was launched in December 2023, aims to develop new things that attract attention in an uncommon or unexpected way. Jennie renewed her group contract with YG Entertainment just weeks before launching the label, which she and her BLACKPINK bandmates say will encourage independent solo ventures.

Jennie and Champion got to know each other at Coachella in 2023, where BLACKPINK was the headlining act on April 15 and 22. They were both present in the crowds and witnessed other performances, along with other performers and celebrity guests. Finally, Jennie’s 2018 solo debut single ‘Solo’ just recently hit a billion views on YouTube, making her the second K-pop soloist to achieve this feat after Psy with ‘Gangnam Style’ in 2012
