South Korean girl group TWICE has scored its first number one album on the Billboard 200 chart with its new mini-album ‘With YOU-th’. The album sold 95,000 equivalent album units in the US in its debut week ending February 29, making it the first time TWICE has topped the Billboard 200. “Although this marks the fifth time the nine-piece have charted in the chart’s Top 10 in their career, ‘With YOU-th’s’ record-breaking sales make it their first album to top the chart,” notes NME. TWICE’s physical album sales and digital album downloads accounted for 90,000 units, marking the highest first-week sales for any K-pop group so far this year.

TWICE join seven other K-pop acts in topping the Billboard 200, namely BTS, SuperM, Stray Kids, BlackPink, Tomorrow X Together, NewJeans and ATEEZ, and are the third girl group in K-pop history to achieve this feat.

The title track of ‘With YOU-th’ is “One Spark”, which was released along with a music video late last month. The album also includes “I Got You”, a Lauv remix that was released on 5 February. It is the group’s first music as a group in nearly a year, since the release of ‘Ready To Be’ in March 2020, which was led by title track “Set Me Free”. Throughout the rest of 2020, the girl group embarked on their Ready To Be world tour.

The Billboard 200 charts the most popular albums in the US each week and is determined by a combination of traditional album sales, streaming equivalents and digital song download equivalents
