Rihanna has performed her first full-length performance in almost eight years at a pre-wedding event in India. The singer was reportedly paid $6million (£4.7million) to perform a private concert celebrating the marriage of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. The three-day event took place in Ambani’s hometown of Jamnagar and consisted of a 19-song gig from Rihanna. The set included hits such as ‘We Found Love’, ‘Umbrella’, ‘Stay’, ‘Rude Boy’, ‘Diamonds’, ‘Work’ and ‘All Of The Lights’.
During her performance, Rihanna thanked the happy couple for having her and congratulated them on their marriage. Following her set, Rihanna told reporters that the show had been the best and that she hadn’t done a real show in eight years. Footage of the performance has since emerged on social media, including clips of Rihanna singing ‘Diamonds’, ‘Umbrella’, ‘Rude Boy’, ‘We Found Love’, ‘Stay’ and ‘Work’.
Rihanna has not performed a full-length show since 2016. In the years since, she has largely concentrated on her business ventures, including her wildly successful cosmetics and lingerie lines, as well as her humanitarian work.
The Ambani wedding has been called one of the biggest weddings in the history of India, with a guest list that reportedly included Bollywood movie stars and senior politicians.
