Manchester’s Green Island Festival has announced its return this year, taking place across three events on June 15, July 27 and September 7. The festival will take over Hulme Community Garden Centre, NIAMOS and Warwick Street.

The festival is comprised of day parties and afterparties, offering tickets starting from £20 to a maximum capacity of 1000 attendees, who can expect to enjoy neo-soul, jazz, punk, hip-hop, pop and electronic sounds.

The mainstage at NIAMOS will be headlined by Nina Simone, while Warwick Street will be the epicentre for food and drink. Hulme Garden Centre, the original festival location, will host the Marquee Stage, Forest Stage and vinyl-only audiophile-inspired Selector Stage, which will feature artists such as Murder He Wrote and Una Lee.

Each event will have an afterparty hosted at YES, with the line-up for each event to be revealed at a later date. Green Island has also partnered with Eat Well MCR, allowing ticket buyers to donate to the organization which provides meals to needy families.

Co-founders Stephan Agbogbe and George McGirr were both thrilled to double the festival in size this year, stating their desire to empower staff and artists integral to the festival’s inception, celebrating diversity and global sounds.
