Enfield murder probe: Man fatally stabbed in north-London flat

A man has died in a flat in Enfield, North London after being fatally stabbed. The emergency services were called to the communal area of the Lockhart Close flats on Friday after the man, aged 66, was found critically injured. Despite efforts by the ambulance service, the man died at the scene. A murder investigation is now underway.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police are appealing for witnesses and asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in Lockhart Close, Derby Road, and Lincoln Road at the time of the incident, to come forward. The deceased has not yet been formally identified, and a post-mortem examination is due to take place.

Det Ch Insp Laura Nelson has said that her team is working diligently to find whoever is responsible for this killing, with specialist forensic officers working in the area to support the investigation. Detectives are also seeking the man’s next of kin as their investigation continues.

Local residents, as well as the public, have been encouraged to share any information they have that may be relevant to the case. Despite police reassurances, many in the area are concerned about this tragic incident and what it might mean about safety in their community.
