Liverpool is to become one of the first councils in the UK to offer a WhatsApp Channel to keep its residents informed of important events and updates. The new service will allow the council to reach out to residents with city-wide news, as well as critical weather alerts and updates. The WhatsApp Channel also promises to provide residents with exciting city-wide event information.
To access the new WhatsApp Channel, residents need only scan a QR code or type a URL into their mobile browser and click the “Follow” button in the top right corner. Once logged onto the channel, residents can activate notifications by simply clicking on the bell icon in the top right corner.
