After directing hit games like The Last Of Us and Uncharted 2, Neil Druckmann has expressed his doubts about continuing to direct big games. In an interview with rapper Logic, Druckmann explained how the stress of managing so many people and multiple studios worldwide can be tiring.
Despite these doubts, Druckmann has teased one more game in The Last Of Us series. In a documentary chronicling the development of The Last Of Us Part 2, he claimed that he feels like “there’s probably one more chapter to this story.” Fans eagerly await more details about this possible game.
Druckmann’s experience developing Uncharted 2 was especially enjoyable for him because it wasn’t under as much pressure. The game was successful enough that it made Sony happy and enough money, but not so successful that it put undue pressure on him and his team. According to Druckmann, “now everybody is expecting something to be great” and the stress has become intense.
Cory Balrog, creative director of God Of War Ragnarok, also quoted one of Druckmann’s tweets in which he shared an article reporting on the interview. In his tweet, Balrog expressed agreement with Druckmann’s sentiments and wished him well.
In other gaming news, a Paranormal Activity horror game is reportedly in development. Fans of the franchise will no doubt be excited to know more about this upcoming title
