Daft Punk have been immortalised in wax at Madame Tussauds in New York. The figures are dressed in their iconic ‘Random Access Memories’-era sequin tuxedos designed by Hedi Slimane. The display is situated in the museum’s ‘Glow Gala’ area, with visuals from their 2013 project displayed on a screen behind the figures. Guests can also view representations of Ariana Grande, Beyoncé and RuPaul, among others.
The accurate waxwork figures of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo also wear matching gloves and pyramid pendant necklaces in gold and silver, respectively. Madame Tussauds explained the precise attention to detail that went into crafting the realistic figures, with a nod to the duo’s luxurious fashion sense.
Daft Punk celebrated the 10th anniversary of their ‘Random Access Memories’ album last year. Along with the special edition release, they dropped new tracks and previously unseen behind-the-scenes footage. In November, they also dropped a “drumless edition” of the album.
