Jack Antonoff, the frontman of Bleachers, recently criticized Kanye West in a new interview, saying that he “just needs his diaper changed so badly.” During the interview, Antonoff discussed why he so fiercely comes to the defense of frequent collaborator Taylor Swift. Damon Albarn had suggested in a previous interview with The Los Angeles Times that Swift doesn’t write her own songs, to which Antonoff responded by calling him “a herb.”
Antonoff added that questioning Swift’s songwriting abilities “is like challenging someone’s faith in God. You just don’t go there.” He then turned his attention to West, who famously invaded the stage during the 2009 MTV VMAs after Swift won an award, insisting that Beyonce should have won the prize. Antonoff said that Ye “just needs his diaper changed so badly,” and that he would not take his call.
Antonoff had previously hit out at West, calling him a “little crybaby bitch” after learning that the rapper’s new album would drop on the same day as his. During the interview, Antonoff also talked about producing Lana Del Rey’s forthcoming country album “Lasso,” saying that “It’s fucking brilliant.” Antonoff is gearing up to release Bleachers’ upcoming self-titled album, which is scheduled for March 8 via Dirty Hit.
The album has already released a few singles, including “Modern Girl,” “Alma Mater,” “Tiny Moves,” and “Me Before You.” Bleachers will also be touring the UK next month, with dates including London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town and Manchester’s O2 Ritz
