Disney+ has unveiled the first images of its new K-drama production, Unmasked. Set to debut later this year, the show follows the story of a group of investigative journalists whose jobs are suddenly in jeopardy following the publication of a controversial article. In a last-ditch attempt to save their careers, the team embarks on the long-unsolved case of a famous actor who vanished without a trace twenty years ago.
Featuring in the forthcoming drama are Lee Hye-soo of Under The Queen’s Umbrella and Smugglers as the tough and tenacious Oh So-ryong, alongside Jung Sung-il of The Glory and Our Blues as rookie producer Han Do. Joo Jong-hyuk of Extraordinary Attorney Woo is also set to star, although the details of his role have not yet been disclosed. The series has been written by Gi Ryang and directed by You Sun-dong, best known for his work on The Uncanny Counter.
Since Disney+ has yet to release a trailer for the forthcoming K-drama, the three new images offer the first glimpse of the series. Though the US premiere date has not been announced, the show is expected to debut on Disney+ in the latter half of 2024.
As with similar productions on Disney+, it’s likely that the series will also be available on Hulu for US viewers. Without a confirmed trailer, audiences will have to wait for more details to be released ahead of the show’s anticipated arrival later this year
