Adele pauses Las Vegas residence due to illness

Adele’s ‘Weekends With Adele’ Las Vegas residency has been postponed for five weeks due to the singer’s illness. The singer-songwriter took to social media on February 28th to announce the news, explaining that she had become ill “at the end of the last leg and all the way through my break” and had continued with several shows through the sickness. She suffered the consequences of continuing the shows through the illness and explained that it has taken a toll on her voice. She continued by quoting doctors’ orders stating that she has no other choice but to rest thoroughly and work out the details of the postponed shows, which will be sent out as soon as they are confirmed.

The remaining five weekends of Adele’s residency are postponed with details from Adele explaining the dates of the postponed shows, which are March 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23 and 29 and 30. Adele added to her Las Vegas residency in October 2021, which was initially expected to end in June but could potentially be stretched out even further with the newly postponed dates. The residency began in November 2022, having been postponed at the last minute in January of the same year.

Last month, Adele announced that she will embark on a world tour for her next album cycle. The singer revealed her plans in the middle of a show in Las Vegas, telling her audience that she will tour more than she has done with albums in the past. In addition, Adele confirmed in January that she would hold a residency in Munich, Germany, at the end of the same month, with a total of 10 shows at the purpose-built Munich Messe arena.

Despite the postponement, Adele’s fans remain supportive, with many voicing their concern on social media platforms, sending their well wishes to the singer. Adele herself expressed her disappointment, saying that it was with great sadness that she has made the decision to postpone the upcoming concerts in Las Vegas. However, she remains confident that she will be able to make a speedy recovery and return to the stage soon
