Henry Moores, a 21-year-old from Manchester, has announced that he plans to walk from the city centre of Manchester to Ibiza, a distance of approximately 1,200 miles. He hopes to arrive at Ocean Beach in time for its opening party on May 3, which is known for its lavish poolside parties, live DJs, and aerial performances. He has estimated that the walk will take him roughly 60 days, and he will begin on March 2.

Moores had reached out to Wayne Lineker, the owner of Ocean Beach, via Instagram to share his plan, which Lineker initially found incredulous. In an interview with GB News, Moores admitted that “Wayne was the king of Ibiza…I had to get in touch with him.” Lineker eventually agreed to support Moores and to join him on the first and last day of the journey.

Moores has never been to Ibiza before and claimed that he “can’t afford a flight” to the White Isle. He plans to walk a marathon each day and will make his way from Manchester to Portsmouth, via Caen, France to Denia, Spain before finishing with a final 30km from Ibiza Town to Ocean Beach.

The journey is not only a personal challenge but also aims to raise funds for charity. Moores will be supporting the Tony Hudgell Foundation, which helps children who have been affected by physical, emotional, or psychological abuse. His journey to Paris last year was equally charitable, raising over £20,000 to provide Christmas meals and experiences for those less fortunate in the area
