Brazil is set to open a new nightclub inside a Boeing 727-200 that has been decommissioned and refurbished for this purpose. Called JETSET, the nightclub aims to offer an experience that goes beyond music, with D-Edge founder Renato Ratier as the captain of this journey. The nightclub will be located at the dance music complex Surreal Park, Camboriú, and will also feature a deck, runway, bar, and the aircraft’s wings will be an observation point.
The fuselage of the Boeing 727-200 is currently being refurbished at Afonso Pena International Airport and will go through a chroming process before it’s relocated to the Surreal Park. The model of Boeing was discontinued in 1984 and the last commercial flight on this type of aircraft was in 2019. Although the line-up is yet to be announced, Surreal Park has previously invited top artists such as Amelie Lens, Carl Cox, Seth Troxler, and ANNA, among others.
The Boeing 727-200 was designed to carry 189 passengers and could reach a maximum speed of 1,014 km/h. It was a popular passenger plane between the 60s and 80s. JETSET will reopen in summer 2024 to provide revellers with a unique, immersive experience at a nightclub that will definitely stand out from the rest. With its unique setting and Ratier leading the way, Brazil is poised to push the boundaries of what it means to rave in a nightclub.
