American singer and songwriter SZA has unveiled her latest single, “Saturn”. The track was initially premiered as part of a Mastercard advert during the 2024 Grammys, where SZA won three awards: Best Progressive R&B Album for ‘SOS’, Best R&B Song for ‘Snooze’ and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for ‘Ghost In The Machine’ featuring Phoebe Bridgers.
Distressed about the current state of the world, SZA sings about being stuck in a paradigm that is void of paradise. The song’s chorus sees her obsess over Saturn, expressing a deep desire to escape our world’s insanity. The track’s five-track collection also features an acoustic, live and an instrumental version of the song, all available on Spotify.
‘Saturn’ is set to feature on SZA’s newest project, ‘Lana’, slated for release soon. “This round, I actually don’t want to say anything. Just because I feel like I do myself a disservice because you can shift the energy of the album,” she stated. SZA’s collaboration with Paramore has been teased to fans, while the star is nominated for two awards at the upcoming BRIT Awards 2024.
At an Apple Live event that took place in Brooklyn, New York, SZA previewed an unreleased song called “DTM”. The artist explained that she wanted to allow the album to shape itself on its own and not hinder its creative process. She says she is merely trying to follow the songs’ energies as they form on their own.
SZA’s music has been globally appreciated, garnering a massive fan base. With her upcoming album, Lana, fans have even more to look forward to
