AURORA announced as new host of ‘Tearjerker’ podcast on BBC Sounds

BBC Sounds’ Tearjerker podcast returns for its fourth season with Norwegian singer-songwriter Aurora as the presenter. The podcast considers the healing power of emotionally charged music and artists’ choices will include genres such as classical, electronica, and pop. Aurora, whose own music is renowned for its emotive quality, will also feature a listener suggestion segment called The Song That Saves Me. The 12-episode season is already available to listen on BBC Sounds. Previous presenters of the Tearjerker podcast have included Jorja Smith, Jordan Rakei and Sigrid.

Aurora recently released her single “The Conflict of the Mind”, and discussed her own relationship to song and healing. She stated that “Once you’ve truly opened up you’ll find a version of yourself you thought was gone.” Aurora will also perform a number of dates in Norway without a scheduled break during the spring of 2024, starting in Hamar on March 3, then Bergen, Trondheim, and Stavanger before ending the tour with two consecutive dates in Oslo.

As part of this year’s BRITs Week for War Child, Aurora will perform at London’s Lafayette on February 26. Aurora emphasized the importance of this cause in an interview, saying “children deserve to be protected from the flaws of our ways.” She believes that supporting causes like War Child ties into the greater essence of life, that even small gestures can help humanity thrive
