Jam City’s ‘Wild n Sweet’ track from 2023 has been given a new rework by Paul Woolford, which will be included in a remix pack that is scheduled for release later this month. The track is part of a six-track deluxe edition of ‘Jam City Presents EFM,’ which was released last year by the British producer, marking his return to a focus on a club sound. The remix pack release will also include alternate versions of singles from the 2023 release.
The deluxe ‘Jam City Presents EFM’ album, which will be released on March 22, will be available via Earthly/Mad Decent. Woolford’s remix of ‘Wild n Sweet,’ featuring Empress Of, is the first track of the forthcoming remix release. Talking about his remix, Woolford said that he considers Jam City to be one of his favourite producers, and considers the track to be one of his strongest works thanks to Empress Of’s tone and lyrics. He went on to describe the track as a “gorgeous and delicate but empowered song.”
Jam City (real name Jack Latham) praised Woolford’s work, saying that he was an inspiration before inviting him into the world of ‘EFM’ to create the remix of ‘Wild n Sweet.’ The remix will feature alongside “six brand new tracks, featuring remixes by some of my favorite producers, as well as alternate versions of some of my favorite album cuts that didn’t deserve to face eternity on a flash drive somewhere” from the album.
Lyricism and tone play an important role in Woolford’s remix, which he described as having a framework that “feels something like if Kaytra and Moodymann had a baby and made something together.” The new version of ‘Wild n Sweet’ is a beautiful reminder of how club music can still be current and experimental at the same time. The track showcases Woolford’s versatile take on contemporary club music
