Residents over 16 are being asked to complete a survey that includes questions on how active they are and what would incentivize them to sustain a healthy lifestyle. The council aims to collaborate with organisations such as Sport England to build the strategy, which will tackle the poor physical health of around 25% of the city’s population. Tina Pilkington, Place Relationship Manager for Sport England, emphasized that regular exercise is essential to sustain good health, socially, physically and mentally, and that people need to collaborate to create a physically active lifestyle.
To access the survey, residents can visit the council’s consultations page on its website, with a deadline of midnight on 6 March 2024. The questionnaire can also be requested in other languages or formats
