Jisoo, a member of the popular K-pop band, BLACKPINK has launched her own solo label named Blissoo. She announced the launch to fans on Instagram Stories, describing it as a “new start” and stating that her mission was to share happiness and joy with her fans. Blissoo is a portmanteau of the words ‘bliss’ and ‘Jisoo’ and the mission of the label is to break through the boundaries of genres and fields.
Following reports from the South Korean news outlets, it was confirmed that Jisoo would be establishing her label with her brother. The launch of her label comes roughly two months after those reports were made. This news followed shortly after YG Entertainment confirmed that none of the group members would be renewing their individual contracts with the agency.
This move by Jisoo follows in the footsteps of her bandmates, Jennie and Lisa, who have also started their own labels. Jennie founded Odd Atelier (OA) while Lisa founded LLOUD. The fourth and final member of BLACKPINK, Rosé, has yet to share any plans about her future as a solo artist.
Last December, all four members renewed their group contract with YG Entertainment. Fans can look forward to the group releasing new music and going on world tours in the near future. Meanwhile, Jisoo, Jennie, and Lisa will be sharing their unique individual talents with the world through their solo labels
