The Foo Fighters will be hosting a close-door charity event at Washington DC in support of Power To The Patients, a non-profit institute catering towards fair healthcare and affordable medical treatments. Scheduled for March 5, the event will have performances by Chuck D, Fat Joe, and the Foo Fighters. Many lawmakers, government officials, and the institute staff will also be in attendance to support fair pricing transparency for all medical needs.
The band added in their statement that they believe that people suffering from illness and injuries should not have to worry about being financially devastated by medical bills. The event aims to highlight the problems of more than 100 million Americans struggling with medical debts due to surprise billing issues. Foo Fighters’ support of the Power To The Patients gig is not their solitary charitable gesture, as drummer Dave Grohl spent Super Bowl Sunday barbecuing at a homeless shelter in LA in February.
Last year also witnessed Grohl volunteering at a rescue shelter for 16 hours cooking up ribs, pork butt, and brisket in California. In Melbourne in 2018, Grohl spent his day helping to feed homeless people while on the Foo Fighters’ Australia Tour. In addition to all that, he stepped up to the grill in 2018 to cook for Californian firefighters as an expression of his gratitude to the firefighters for their altruism during the wildfire crisis.
Grohl will supposedly feature on St. Vincent’s upcoming album as part of their “pretty tight little Wrecking Crew” with new Foo Fighter drummer, Josh Freese. The band consists of many different artists and promotes new opportunities for Trey Anastasio, Sharon Van Etten, and Broods firmly
