Earlier today, 33-year-old Daniel Sebastian Allen was sentenced to 29 years in jail for the murder of three generations of the same family. The tragic events took place in February 2018 in County Fermanagh. The victims included Denise Gossett, 45, her son Roman, 16, his sister Sabrina, 19, and Sabrina’s 15-month-old daughter Morgana Quinn.
Allen, who had been living with the family, pleaded guilty to the murder of the three youngest victims, as well as to the manslaughter of Denise by reason of a suicide pact. However, the judge noted that there was a disturbing part of Allen’s makeup that led to these deaths.
Despite Allen showing no emotion, the judge made it clear that he would not be considered for release until 2047. This is a clear indication of the severity of the crime and the impact it has had on the family and wider community.
Although nothing can bring back those who have been lost, the sentencing of Allen offers some form of closure for the family and friends of the victims. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of recognizing early warning signs in individuals who may pose a risk to others and seeking help before tragic events occur
