Liam Gallagher says he asked Noel to reunite Oasis for ‘Definitely Maybe’ tour but “he turned it down”

In a recent interview with music magazine MOJO, Liam Gallagher revealed that he had offered his brother, Noel Gallagher, the chance to reunite for a tour celebrating Oasis’ debut album, “Definitely Maybe.” However, Noel turned down the opportunity. Liam had previously announced plans for a 2024 tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the album with a full performance of the tracklist and some “naughty” B-sides. He’s set to embark on a 12-date solo tour next year.

Liam stated that he called Noel’s management team to make the offer for the Oasis reunion tour, but his brother declined, citing his ongoing divorce as a reason. Nonetheless, Liam is moving forward with his plans, saying, “I’ll do the ‘Definitely Maybe’ thing and have a nice time without him.” Liam also addressed the possibility of a reunion for the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ second album, “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?,” stating, “It’s down to the universe. It’ll happen when it happens, it’s not in our hands anymore.”

It is not the first time that Liam has claimed that his brother turned down his offer to reunite, as Noel had said he was “open to a phone call” earlier in May. However, Noel accused Liam of being a “coward” and claimed that his brother was guilty of getting “people’s hopes up” with his social media comments. The Gallagher brothers have publicly exchanged barbs since Oasis’ split in 2009, and they are frequently asked about the possibility of a reunion tour.

In April, Noel confirmed that there would be no Oasis reunion, but he did confirm plans for a 30th anniversary reissue of Oasis’ debut album. Liam has since collaborated with Stone Roses guitarist John Squire, and they are set to release a self-titled album in 2025. It remains to be seen if the Gallagher brothers will ever reunite for another tour
