Jennifer Lopez calls ‘This Is Me… Now’ a “20 year journey”

Singer and actress Jennifer Lopez recently released her new album, ‘This Is Me… Now,’ which she has described as the result of a “20 year journey.” Accompanying the album is a film titled, ‘This Is Me… Now: A Love Story,’ which fictionalizes her romantic relationship with actor Ben Affleck. The album marks Lopez’s first in over a decade. In interviews about the album and film, Lopez has spoken about reconciling the growth and ups and downs of her music career over the years, saying the project is about her reconciling the last two decades of “growth and all the falling down and getting up” that she’s experienced.

The ‘This Is Me… Now’ album features authentic rhythms and melodies, as well as a specific feeling that many people who have heard the album have felt, according to Lopez. The album’s lead single, ‘Can’t Get Enough,’ recently featured performances from rappers Latto and REDMAN. On stage, Latto delivered a remixed verse, while REDMAN also appeared to rap his own lyrics.

The accompanying film, ‘This Is Me… Now: A Love Story,’ tells the story of Lopez’s love life with Affleck, with guest appearances from Post Malone, Jane Fonda, Trevor Noah, and Sofia Vergara.
