Holly Humberstone announces new EP and shares lead track ‘Dive’

Holly Humberstone has given fans a sneak peek into her new EP ‘Work in Progress’ with the release of the first track, ‘Dive’. The British singer-songwriter will release the full EP via Darkroom / Geffen / Polydor on March 15, 2022. Humberstone dug through her archives and discovered these songs in their original demo form, which she decided to release to fans as a “work in progress”.

Speaking about the EP, Humberstone said, “Every song starts as a work in progress. Some stay as demos and ideas, others find new life with more production. But these songs were demos I couldn’t leave behind. I went back through the archives and discovered these lost older versions of myself mixed up with the present version of me”.

‘Dive’ is a warning to a man not to pursue a relationship with Humberstone and is the first song from the EP. Speaking on the song, Humberstone says, “I wrote it a few years ago as a kind of warning to a guy to not get involved with me. I was worried I’d hurt him. Whenever I think about the highs and lows of past and present relationships, it reminds me that life will always be evolving and changing in ways that I can’t predict, and I think that’s ok.”

Humberstone has been making waves in the industry after her debut album ‘Paint My Bedroom Black’ was named one of NME’s 10 best debut albums of 2021. The singer-songwriter is set to tour the UK in March before heading to North America in May and finishing up her tour in Vancouver on May 29. Tickets for the UK shows are now on sale.

Earlier this month, Humberstone also collaborated with Del Water Gap on the single ‘Cigarettes & Wine’, a song that explores the intimacy of a relationship in which the couple feel like they’re the only two people in the world. It seems that Humberstone has a bright future ahead with an EP and tour on the horizon
