Korean idol IU has released a music video for her track “Holssi,” which is one of two lead singles from her upcoming mini-album, “The Winning.” The release of “Holssi” comes a month after the unveiling of the first single, “Love Wins All,” which featured BTS’s V as IU’s love interest. IU’s latest music video features her alongside dancers soaring into the air, set against a backdrop of a giant inflatable Tweety Bird. The song’s message is about taking flight and blooming elsewhere.
“The Winning” will feature five tracks, with “Shopper” serving as the album’s second lead single. A music video for “Shopper,” directed and narrated by DPR Ian, will be released next week. “The Winning” will be released in full on February 20.
IU has confirmed her upcoming world tour, “H.E.R.,” which will start in March and continue through to August 2024. The tour will include shows in Asia, Europe, and the US.
NME’s reviewer Rhian Daly gave IU’s “Love Wins All” a four-star review and hailed the ballad as “a masterclass” and a song that “makes you feel every ounce of emotion naturally.” B-side “Shh..,” which features vocals from NewJeans’ Hyein and Cho Won-sun from Roller Coaster, will also receive a music video.
