The generous Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have made a huge £10,000 donation to help fund necessary adaptations to the home of a young disabled Wrexham football fan named Louis. Louis is just four years old and was born with rare genetic condition, TUBA1A, which affects his mobility, causes epileptic episodes and leg spasms. His desire to cheer on his favourite football team Wrexham AFC has brought much joy to him and his parents, but they need to make several adaptations to their home to meet his growing needs.
Louis’ parents Aaron and Charlotte are currently raising £40,000 to fund home adaptations, which include a downstairs bedroom that includes an attached wet room and to have the level of the garden raised so that Louis can easily move to and from the house. They have been through two sets of plans with their local council, but the cost of the project has resulted in no funding being available for it. The £10,000 donated to the family on Friday by the football club’s owners has given them new hope for achieving their goal.
Charlotte works for the emergency services, and Aaron is a headteacher; they are doing their best to provide and care for Louis, the previous equipment they used to help him was temporary and as he continues to grow, it is becoming a challenge for them. Charlotte stated that Louis would often spin his wheelchair around in the middle of watching matches and scream with joy. She added that she just wants him to be independent and safe in their home.
The Hollywood stars have made several donations to people in Wrexham since purchasing the club to provide aid for people adversely affected by the pandemic. Now they have come to the assistance of a little boy and his parents, bringing their total donation to £20,000, showing their continued generosity
