Shane Lavers, a well-known member of the New York DIY scene, is behind the project known as Chanel Beads. Lavers is committed to producing music that moves him. He said, “If it didn’t move me while performing, then I couldn’t make it into a song. As much as I wanted to make something that was cool to the touch, I had to make something that made me feel something.” He is joined by bandmates Maya McGrory and Zachary Paul, who contribute vocals and violin, respectively. Their sound is carefully curated, evoking an otherworldly presence while remaining steeped in reality.
Chanel Beads is now part of Rough Trade On The Rise, a project that aims to inspire and promote new and emerging artists.
