James McCartney, son of legendary musician Paul McCartney of The Beatles, has announced his return to the world of music with his latest single ‘Beautiful.’ The single is set to release on February 23, marking his first new music in eight years. James has previously contributed to recordings for his father’s albums such as ‘Flaming Pie’ and ‘Driving Rain’ as well as his mother Linda McCartney’s ‘Wide Prairie.’
The multi-instrumentalist began releasing his own solo material in 2010 with a series of EPs, which eventually led to his debut studio album ‘Me’ in 2013, followed by ‘The Blackberry Train’ in 2016. However, James has not been active with new releases since then.
James has also gained internet fame for high-profile clips over the years. Before a performance on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, James was played a clip of his father’s embarrassing but supportive message: “Hey Jamesy, rock it man, I know you will,” the Beatle says, before air-guitaring. In addition, in another interview, James references his father’s band to answer a range of music-related questions.
In November, rumours began to swirl about the possibility of a supergroup being formed out of the original Beatles’ children, including James, Zak Starkey, Sean Lennon, and Dhani Harrison. However, Starr’s son Zak Starkey moved to shut down the rumours. Meanwhile, James’ father, Paul McCartney, was seen catching up with Taylor Swift in the crowd at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas.
The excitement is mounting for James McCartney’s upcoming single, ‘Beautiful.’ Fans and critics alike are eagerly anticipating what the son of one of the most famous musicians of all time will bring to the table
