The Libertines have revealed their line-up for an upcoming Brighton show, which features The Charlatans, The Mary Wallopers, and more. The announcement came a day after the band announced their headline slot at On The Beach 2024, a gig organised by Radio X, that will take place in Brighton during July. The Kooks were confirmed to play the prior weekend. Tickets for The Libertines’ gig will go on sale on February 14.
The remaining artists set to take the stage are The Charlatans, who will be performing after a recent UK tour, and Ireland-based folk-rock group The Mary Wallopers, who performed at several UK festivals last year. The line-up also features London-based band The Big Moon, UK post-punk group The Futureheads, and local shoegaze and Britpop band Chappaqua Wrestling.
The headline slot in Brighton will be in anticipation of The Libertines’ new album ‘All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade,’ which is set to be released on March 8. The follow-up to 2015’s ‘Anthems for Doomed Youth’ was announced back in October, and the lead single, ‘Run Run Run,’ was also dropped at that time. In an interview with NME, Doherty and Barat spoke about their focus on creating beautiful songs, stating “This is the album we’re proud of.”
Tickets for the gig can be purchased from the Ticketmaster and The Libertines websites. Fans eagerly await the event, which is set to showcase a diverse array of musical talent from the UK and beyond
