I. JORDAN announces debut album ‘I AM JORDAN’

I.JORDAN announced the upcoming release of their debut album ‘I AM JORDAN’ due for release in May. A UK-based DJ and producer, they have dropped their first single from the album, ‘Real Hot n Naughty’ with the Scouse rapper, Felix Mufti. The album has been described as a “personal dance music diary” celebrating the sounds of donk, trance, house, and hardstyle with tributes to the Northern music scene. ‘Real Hot n Naughty’ is the first taste of what the album will offer and comes along with its music video.

In discussing the album, Jordan stated that “This album is about joy, it’s about my joy as a trans person and trans joy generally, working with trans people, making all this fun music together.” Brit actor and star of the Netflix hit series, ‘Sex Education’, Felix Mufit provided the vocals on the track. Mufit has previously danced for Jordan’s sets at Glastonbury and Homoblow.

Jordan commented on the bond between the pair, stating that “a large part of the reason why Felix and I instantly bonded is because of our queer working-class backgrounds and our pride around that as well” and that, “Our aim with this track is to make a real queer northern dance anthem. A lot of working-class, northern humour is ‘things are a bit shit, but whatever. We’ll take the piss’.”

After ten years of experience, Jordan has worked with the likes of Fred Again.., Planningtorock, Fever Ray, Romy, and Eliza Rose. In a joint EP project, Jordan also collaborated with SHERELLE last year and subsequently embarked on a UK and European tour. ‘I AM JORDAN’ will be out on May 10 via Ninja Tune.

The album’s tracklist includes:
1. ‘When Lights Flash’
2. ‘Casino High’
