‘Elden Ring’ devs “working hard” on DLC but there are still no release plans

Fans of the critically acclaimed game Elden Ring have been eagerly waiting for the release of The Shadow Of Erdtree expansion. FromSoftware, the game’s developer, have confirmed that they are working hard on the expansion, but have yet to provide any indication of its release date.

The Shadow Of Erdtree expansion was first announced in February 2023. Some details have emerged since, such as producer Yasuhiro Kitao confirming that the DLC will feature new battles and new characters, and being compared to Bloodborne.

December rumours that the expansion would be ready in time for The Game Awards were quickly denied. Kitao has said that although it will be some time before it is released, progress is going well.

In January, files found in the Steam listing for Elden Ring led some to believe that the expansion’s release was imminent. However, FromSoftware’s parent company Kadokawa later dismissed these reports, confirming that they are currently working hard on the expansion but have not announced a release date at this time.

Elden Ring was originally released in February 2022 and was universally praised for its refined open-world format and notable improvements to the Souls formula. Until there is a release date for the Shadow Of Erdtree expansion, fans will have to wait patiently for any news
