Sorn, best known for her work with the K-pop group CLC, has announced the release of her new single ‘Cool’. The track marks her first release of 2022 and is intended as a Valentine’s Day celebration. In a press statement, Sorn described the song as a “confession” to “someone I developed a crush on”; “It’s cool, I like you like I do / Won’t keep you in the blue / Talk to me baby, it’s cool,” she sings on the track’s chorus.
The accompanying music video features Sorn’s signature effervescent style, which has been a defining feature of her personality throughout her career. It marks Sorn’s sixth digital single since she signed with WILD Entertainment Group. Her previous releases include ‘Not A Friend’, ‘Scorpio’ and ‘Nirvana Girl’, on which she collaborated with her CLC bandmates Yeeun and Seungyeon.
Despite rumours to the contrary, Sorn has previously confirmed that CLC has not disbanded, despite the departure of several members from their long-time agency, CUBE Entertainment. Sorn has been working on her forthcoming debut mini-album, which she has said will be heavily influenced by early 2000s music. While no release date or title for the EP has been announced, Sorn has revealed that she is keen to explore a more “grown-up” concept for her solo work.
Following the release of ‘Cool’, Sorn is expected to continue shaking up the K-pop scene with her unique blend of catchy melodies and vibrant personality. Fans can expect to hear more from her soon, as she prepares to delve deeper into the world of solo music
