The Rolling Stones have “cut back” on backstage rider requests

The Rolling Stones have revealed that they no longer have extensive requests for their backstage area, according to bassist Darryl Jones. While they used to have gigantic gaming rooms created out of curtains and video racing games, they’ve since cut back on those kinds of requests. However, they still have plenty of food around, including Keith Richards’ favourite dish, shepherd’s pie. Jones even mentioned that he and the keyboard player have their own rider for food backstage.

In other news, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich shared a story of when they were special guests at two of the Stones’ gigs in San Francisco in 2005 and were asked not to make eye contact or talk to Mick Jagger. Ulrich revealed in an episode of Club Random with Bill Maher last year that they were heartbroken they weren’t able to speak to Jagger, and that they were only allowed to take a photo opportunity with the band before going onstage.

The Rolling Stones are set to begin their 2024 ‘Hackney Diamonds’ tour later this year. The tour will take Jagger, Richards, and Ronnie Wood to 16 cities across the United States and Canada. Tickets for the shows can be purchased on the Rolling Stones’ official website. Additionally, they will play at this year’s edition of New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival alongside Foo Fighters, Neil Young and Crazy Horse, and more.
