The MOBO Awards 2024 results have been announced and the winners are nothing short of impressive. Potter Payper, an emerging artist, won Album Of The Year with his debut LP titled ‘Real Back In Style’. Meanwhile, Central Cee and Dave came out on top for Song Of The Year with their collaborative track ‘Sprinter’. Cench was awarded Best Male Act, and Raye won the award for Best Female Act. Little Simz, on the other hand, bagged the award for Best Hip-Hop Act, while Shygirl took home the award for Best Electronic/Dance Act. The most noteworthy achievement went to Inflo, who won Best Producer.

Soul II Soul was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award, while Sugababes received the Impact award. Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill won the Paving The Way Award, and Ghetts received the Pioneer Award. The MOBO Awards 2024 was hosted by comedian Babatúndé Aléshé and presenter Indiyah Polack, and took place on February 7 at the Utilita Arena in Sheffield for the first time ever. The night featured live performances from the likes of DJ Spoony, Byron Messia and Soul II Soul.

MOBO has proudly been celebrating and promoting black music in the United Kingdom for 25 years. The awards have been crucial in supporting the growth of British Black music on a global scale while championing local talent, setting the standard in genres such as Rap, Hip-Hop, R&B, Soul, Grime, Drill, Gospel, Jazz, Reggae, African music, Electronic/Dance, Alternative music and beyond. Last year’s winners included Little Simz, Knucks, Central Cee, PinkPantheress, and Jamal Edwards, who was awarded posthumously.

The MOBO Awards are an essential event in the British music scene. It is remarkable and heartening to see these emerging artists receive recognition and acknowledgement for their talents. Year after year, the awards shine a spotlight on amazing talent and contribute to a much-needed representation of black music in the UK.
