Versace has named Chinese K-pop idol NingNing, of the girl group aespa, as its newest global brand ambassador – the latest K-pop idol to represent the luxury fashion brand. The appointment was made public on the brand’s official Instagram account, and reflects the artist’s previous appearances wearing Versace outfits. NingNing expressed her excitement at the opportunity to represent such a prestigious brand and praised Versace’s reputation for supporting creative expression and confidence, particularly in music.
Meanwhile, Donatella Versace, Artistic Director of the Versace fashion label, praised NingNing’s talent, energy and vision, and referred to her as “a wonderful person”. Versace said that NingNing “looks amazing” wearing their clothes. In July 2023, Versace named Hyunjin, of K-pop boyband Stray Kids, as another of its global ambassadors, and he fronted the brand’s upcoming Versace Holiday 2023 campaign.
According to a preview of upcoming releases by their label SM Entertainment, aespa is expected to release new music in the second quarter of 2024, along with other K-pop groups including Red Velvet and SHINee. This also signals NingNing’s increased profile as both artist and ambassador for the Italian luxury fashion house.
