After a 14-year hiatus, indie rock band Les Savy Fav has released their latest single, titled ‘Legendary Tippers.’ The band’s latest track, which is post-punk-influenced, is the first of their latest music since their release of their album ‘Root For Ruin’ in 2010. Tim Harrington, the band’s vocalist, referred to the track’s guitar technique as having ‘offhanded virtuoso thing going.’
According to a press release, the band spent their break from music building and growing their personal lives and careers. Band member Harrington wrote and illustrated children’s books, while other members Syd Butler and Seth Jabour continued their musical career through performing and other jobs.
The band teased their comeback through a series of shows, including appearances alongside musician Marnie Stern and various festival performances across Europe. The band will be touring across the UK and Ireland later in the month, and their appearance at Primavera Sound festival is planned for May.
Harrington explained the bands’ hiatus and return, stating “The band was never a job, so we can’t get fired and don’t have to quit. We had the time to figure out how to bring the people we’ve become and the people we are as artists together authentically. There’s a chaotic, untethered ecstasy at the center of the band’s universe. Squaring that with the desire to create stability and the need to endure some grind isn’t easy.
