Season two of HBO’s video-game adaptation The Last of Us will feature Catherine O’Hara as one of the cast members, according to Variety. O’Hara joins lead actors Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. The forthcoming season will also see newcomers Isabela Merced, Young Mazino and Kaitlyn Dever taking on their respective roles. However, O’Hara’s role is unknown at this point.
The critically acclaimed series is based on a post-apocalyptic world and revolves around a video game. The show is expected to start filming in spring and will reportedly hit screens in 2025. Dever, who is set to portray Abby, is a skilled soldier whose world view changes as she seeks justice for the loved ones she has lost.
On being part of the series, showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckman said that they’ve always looked for world-class actors that can “embody the souls of the characters.” Pascal and Ramsey were both nominated for Golden Globe Awards for their performances in season one, while the show was also nominated for Best Television Series – Drama. However, it lost to Succession.
Though more information about season two is yet to be revealed, fans are eagerly awaiting the second installment after the massive success of season one, which is expected to be replicated in the upcoming season.
