Up-and-coming band The Last Dinner Party has expressed their desire to collaborate with rapper Snoop Dogg on their yet-to-be-released track ‘Big Dog’. The song has gained significant popularity among their fan base, despite not having been officially released. The band’s frontwoman, Abigail Morris, revealed the band’s aspirations in an interview with the Daily Star. She said, “’Big Dog’ is a cursed Nine Inch Nails-meets-Tom Waits situation of a song. We want Snoop to do a verse on that.”
Morris went on to say that the band is also interested in collaborating with the likes of pop stars Charli XCX and Caroline Polachek. However, since the band already has five members, it is difficult to imagine adding another collaborator to the mix. The Last Dinner Party released their debut album ‘Prelude To Ecstasy’ on February 2, which was rated four stars by NME. The album has been received positively, and reviews suggest that it highlights the band’s success and its ability to create fantastic music.
Recently, the band was crowned the winner of the BBC Sound of 2024 poll and also awarded the Rising Star award at this year’s Brit Awards. Despite their early success, the band has had to refute accusations of being “industry plants.” Morris clarified that the band had no industry connections, and their rise was due to their friends supporting them. Morris compared their journey to success with the rise of Oasis, stating, “They weren’t industry plants, and neither are we.”
It’s worth noting that the Last Dinner Party’s aspirations to collaborate with Snoop Dogg and other musicians are just that – aspirations. There is no confirmation that the collaborations will take place. However, fans are excited about the possibility of hearing these collaborations on the band’s future releases
