As announced yesterday, world-renowned R&B icon Stevie Wonder will be paying tribute to the great Tony Bennett at this year’s Grammy Awards. Bennett passed away last July at the age of 96. He famously recorded a hit version of Wonder’s song “For Once In My Life” back in 1967, which remained a part of his song set for 50 years. In 2006, the two singers recorded a duet version of the same song.
The tribute section of the show will also feature Annie Lennox, who will honor Sinead O’Connor with Wendy & Lisa, who were formerly members of Prince’s band, The Revolution. Fantasia Barrino, who stars in the musical film version of The Color Purple, will pay tribute to the late Tina Turner, and Jon Batiste will remember the legendary music executive Clarence Avant.
Other performers at this year’s Grammy’s ceremony will be Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Dua Lipa, Travis Scott, Burna Boy, and U2 (who will perform via the first-ever live broadcast from the Sphere in Las Vegas), and Joni Mitchell, performing at the Grammys for the first time in her over six-decade career.
SZA will also be performing at the event, and Tracy Chapman is expected to perform “Fast Car” with Luke Combs. This year’s host once again is the Daily Show’s Trevor Noah. The ceremony will be held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Taylor Swift, SZA, Victoria Monét, and Phoebe Bridgers lead this year’s Grammy nominations
