Megan The Stallion confirms record deal with Warner Music

Warner Music has confirmed that Megan Thee Stallion has signed a record deal with them, which was rumoured to have been signed back in December 2023. According to sources, the deal will distribute the artist’s upcoming music, while still allowing her to maintain ownership. The rapper has emphasised that this agreement permits her to retain control of both her master recordings and publishing.

In a statement released to Rolling Stone, Megan Thee Stallion affirmed that she expects to create history by signing this unique deal where she is able to focus on growing as an entrepreneur and building an empire alongside Max Lousada and the entire Warner Music Group team. Additionally, in a subsequent statement, the artist thanked her fans, also called “Hotties,” for staying with her through the thick and thin of the rap industry as she strives to chart her career.

Under the new deal, Megan Thee Stallion’s entertainment and music company, Hot Girl Productions, will release forthcoming music projects, with Warner Music group and affiliates providing services including radio promotion and worldwide marketing. Additionally, the distribution deal allows the rapper to expand her imprint, giving her greater creative control of her output. The deal with Warner Music follows the rapper’s legal dispute with label 1501 Certified Entertainment, which was amicably settled.

With her highly anticipated comeback single “Cobra” and the follow-up “Hiss” released via her Hot Girl Productions earlier this year, Megan Thee Stallion is now on the verge of dropping a new album and embarking on a tour. The artist’s ability to navigate the challenges within the rap industry is partly informed by her impressive ability to fight for herself, the Hotties, and her indigenous “Roc Nation.” Since signing the deal with Warner Music, some industry insiders have tipped the artist as one of the few to follow in the footsteps of Jay-Z, P Diddy and Dr Dre, who have all built massive music empires from scratch
