‘Death Stranding 2’ confirms 2025 release, shares new trailer

A new trailer has been released for Death Stranding 2, confirming its title as “Death Stranding 2: On The Beach” and release date in 2025. The ten-minute-long trailer premiered at PlayStation State of Play on January 30th, featuring an all-star cast that includes Norman Reedus, Troy Baker, and George Miller, among others. The trailer displays a range of locales and areas from the previous game, with guitar guns that shoot electricity, babies throwing up ships, and an animated talking puppet.

Death Stranding was first released in 2019, and this game is the first from Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions since Kojima’s departure from Konami in 2015. The game was initially available on PlayStation 4 and eventually rolled out on other platforms, culminating in a Director’s Cut version on PlayStation 5 with extra content and improved performance. NME reviewed the game’s next-generation port, rating it as “fitter, happier and more productive on PS5”. The review lauded the game’s enhanced immersion, loading times, framerate bump, and graphical fidelity, which elevated an already great game into something “extraordinary.”
