NCT WISH, the latest sub-group of K-pop boyband NCT, has enlisted veteran singer BoA as the producer of their debut single. The single, titled “Wish,” will be released in February and will feature both the group’s music and performances. In a statement made by Korean music label SM Entertainment, the company announced that BoA would utilize her wealth of experience in the industry to manage the members’ activities and development.
NCT WISH will officially debut on February 21 at the Tokyo Dome in Japan and features six members who won their spots in the group through the reality show NCT Universe: Lastart. The members, consisting of Sion, Riku, Yushi, Jaehee, Ryo, and Sakuya, aim to become a “Wish Icon” by sending hope and energy to music fans worldwide. The group is set to conduct their global activities in both South Korea and Japan.
Prior to their upcoming release, NCT WISH dropped a performance video for a pre-release track named “NASA” on January 28. The video sees the members performing choreography on a space station while singing in a mix of Korean, Japanese, and English. NCT, which was introduced in 2016, currently has one rotational sub-unit, NCT U, and fixed sub-groups, NCT 127, NCT Dream, and WayV.
BoA, a highly experienced singer, will bring her own identity and sense to the group, which she has honed throughout her lengthy career as a K-pop artist. By overseeing the production of “Wish,” she will offer valuable know-how and insight to the group, paving the way for their future success in the industry
