Singer-songwriter FLETCHER has confirmed the release of her second album, titled ‘In Search Of The Antidote,’ along with its leading single ‘Lead Me On’. This lovelorn track serves as a shift from her previous delicate and dreamy album ‘Girl Of My Dreams’ to a more driving pop-rock sound. In this new track, the New Jersey native reflects on an unrequited love and the differences between herself and the lover. Its hook culminates in the cathartic line “So why don’t you just lead me on / Cause something is better than nothing at all”.
The single was released alongside a video that was directed by Alexandre Moors. In this video, the singer wanders through different rooms of a large house that are occupied by bohemians. ‘Lead Me On’ will be the first single off of FLETCHER’s anticipated sophomore album ‘In Search Of The Antidote.’ This album will be released by Capitol/EMI Records on March 22nd, and it can be pre-ordered here.
This upcoming album was produced by Jennifer Decilveo, who has previously written songs for a variety of acts, including Take That, Miley Cyrus, and Hozier. It features songwriting contributions from Jon Bellion, Julia Michaels, Michael Pollack, and others. In a press release, FLETCHER explained that this album gives fans a look into introspective themes of “identity, insecurity, ego, and self-fulfillment”. She concluded that “love is the antidote” and that the album was an excavation and deep dive for her.
This album will be the first full-length release since FLETCHER was diagnosed with Lyme disease, a diagnosis she revealed in September of 2023.
