The Withington festival, 2000trees, has announced a new wave of bands to perform at the event in 2024. The Chats from Australia will be headlining their first-ever UK festival slot. Other acts that have been confirmed to join the lineup include Nova Twins, Hot Milk, Death From Above 1979, Spanish Love Songs, and Cassyette. The festival will take place from July 10-13, 2024, with The Gaslight Anthem announced as the first headliners, and Manchester Orchestra, Kids In Glass Houses, Hot Mulligan, Boston Manor, and Cleopatrick also due to perform.
In an interview with NME, 2000trees Festival booker, James Scarlett said: “At 2000trees Festival, we have always taken pride in providing bands a path to prove they’re stage headlining-calibre bands. After [The Chats] absolutely destroyed our Main Stage back in 2022, we’re stoked to be bringing [them] back for their first-ever UK festival headline slot, a brilliant band. On top of this, with the additions of bands like Hot Milk, Nova Twins, grandson and tons more of the most exciting artists rock music has to offer, we’re confident we’ve got a fair few more future main-stage headliners lingering in this announcement.”
Tickets for the upcoming festival can be purchased here. Scarlett further added that he is confident that future headline acts will be discovered on this stage, using this platform to help promote and gain recognition for more bands on the rock music scene.
In an interview at the 2023 Mad Cool festival, Nova Twins were asked about their plans for new music. Vocalist and guitarist Amy Love said, “We’ve never done this kind of circuit before, ever, so for us, it’s still quite new and exciting.” Despite having new music in the works, the band understands the importance of experiencing life events and travelling to inspire their creations. Their appearance at 2000trees festival will undoubtedly showcase their musical talent and wow the crowds with their diverse sound.
