Zendaya has expressed openness to returning to the Dune franchise for a third film. When questioned by Fandango to promote Dune: Part Two, along with other cast members, Zendaya stated that she “would be down” for a third science-fiction film directed by Denis Villeneuve. She also expressed excitement about the upcoming film and her willingness to work with Villeneuve at any time.
Zendaya praised Villeneuve, saying that “there’s no better hands with better care and love for it than Denis” and expressed interest in the third movie. She also hinted at anticipating the third film’s release and respecting the director’s reluctance to rush its production.
Villeneuve first teased a potential third Dune film adaptation earlier this year, confirming the existence of a script for Dune: Messiah. His adaptation of the follow-up to Herbert’s original novel, due to inadvertent reader reactions to Paul Atreides, aims to send a warning. A script for the third film is currently being written and is close to completion. However, Villeneuve has hinted that he intends to make a project in between before returning to Dune for a final time.
Zendaya and Chalamet will reprise their roles as Chani and Paul Atreides in Dune: Part Two, which will be released on March 15th, following the success of the first film adaptation
