Are Mr Bungle teasing their first UK shows for two decades?

Californian experimental rock band, Mr Bungle, may be gearing up for their first live UK performances since 2000. The band’s logo was shared on Twitter in the colours of the Union Jack flag without any explanation. Mr Bungle is due to play across Europe in June as part of their 2022 Ipecac Records Tour and will perform at the Hellfest Open Air festival in France.

Mr Bungle frontman, Mike Patton, also co-founded the band’s record label, Ipecac. Meanwhile, the band’s former member, Theobald “Theo” Lengyel, was arrested on suspicion of murdering his former partner last year. Police found the human remains of the victim, Alice “Alyx” Kamakaokalani, earlier this month. Lengyel played the keyboard and saxophone for Mr Bungle’s Warner Bros. releases in the early 1990s and remained with the group for around a decade before departing the band under difficult circumstances.

Last month Mr Bungle released a video for their previously unreleased 1986 song, “Eracist.” The track will feature on their third album, “The Raging Wrath Of The Easter Bunny Demo,” which is being reissued to celebrate 35 years since it was first recorded. The album eventually resulted in the formation of Faith No More, who Mr Bungle’s Patton later joined as frontman.

Mr Bungle has experienced a recent resurgence following their first tour in two decades, where they played shows across North America and Europe. They recreated their debut album during their live performances.
