Pillow Queens announce new album ‘Name Your Sorrow’ and share new single ‘Gone’

Irish indie rock band Pillow Queens has unveiled plans for their upcoming album called ‘Name Your Sorrow.’ The highly anticipated third LP is slated for release on April 19. The album’s lead single, ‘Gone,’ tells the story of a collapsing relationship and is now available for streaming. Fans can pre-save/pre-order ‘Name Your Sorrow’ here.

Pillow Queens consists of four members namely Pamela Connolly, Sarah Corcoran, Rachel Lyons, and Cathy McGuinness. They worked with producer Collin Pastore at Analogue Catalogue in Northern Ireland to shape their latest album. Pastore has previously collaborated with the likes of Lucy Dacus and boygenius.

‘Name Your Sorrow’ is expected to reveal the band’s most vulnerable and self-assured side as they delve into themes of queerness, insecurity, desire, heartbreak, as well as the strength that can emerge from pain. While writing the LP, they drew inspiration from literary figures Eavan Bolan, John Keats, and C.S. Lewis, as well as musical influences such as Vampire Weekend, Barbara Streisand, Frank Ocean, Tool, and Lana Del Rey.

In support of ‘Name Your Sorrow’, Pillow Queens have announced a UK and Ireland tour in 2024. The tour will culminate on July 13 at Iveagh Gardens in Dublin, marking Pillow Queens’ biggest show to date. Fans can purchase tickets and check out the full list of tour dates here.
