Jay Weinberg, the former drummer for Slipknot, has announced that he will be performing with infectious Grooves at Bluesfest, the Australian music festival. This marks Weinberg’s first show since being fired by Slipknot in November 2023. Weinberg took to Instagram to announce the news, revealing that he was both honored and thrilled to be playing at the legendary festival. Infectious Grooves is a funk metal supergroup featuring members of Suicidal Tendencies, Faith No More, and Metallica. Weinberg will be filling in for the band’s original drummer, Brooks Wackerman of Avenged Sevenfold, who will be unable to play.
Bluesfest runs from March 28 through April 1 and features a range of roots music, including performances by Jack Johnson, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Elvis Costello and The Imposters, Tom Jones, Drive-By Truckers, Snarky Puppy, and many others.
