Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes share reflective new single ‘Self Love’

Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes have unveiled their latest single ‘Self Love’ from their much-awaited album, ‘Dark Rainbow,’ set for release on January 26 under the International Death Cult label. It follows the success of the previously-released tracks, ‘Bramble’ and ‘Man of the Hour.’ The single demonstrates the ability of the band, offering a more reflective type of music with a hint of sadness and yearning. In the lyrics, it describes the need for someone to let go of the guilt and pain and forgive themselves while learning how to love themselves before giving their all to someone else.

The band members have spoken about the single in a press release, with frontman Frank Carter emphasizing that “Self Love” is a mantra to live by, which respects the relationship that really matters, which one has with themselves. He explains that it is easy to forget oneself while trying to win affection from others, but the song reminds us that if one cares for themselves, they don’t have to depend on anyone else to be happy. He concludes that “quite often, when you stop looking for what you want, the universe gives you exactly what you need.”

Ruth Hunduma directs the accompanying music video, revealing Carter singing against the sunset-lit aftermath while Dean Richardson plays the guitar. Other scenes show the two together in a red room filled with flashing lights, singing and playing their instruments. After the release of “Dark Rainbow,” Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes will embark on their biggest tour yet, starting in February 2024, where they will make their way through Europe and the UK. They will then move to Australia in April, where they will perform in Geelong, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, and Sydney. The following month they will head to the US for a handful of shows across the nation.

In other news, the band has been announced to be performing at Hellfest Open Air this year, along with other major acts like Metallica, The Prodigy, Foo Fighters, and more.
